Paul is a graduate of the Graphic Design and Illustration program from California State University San Jose (SJSU), and received the Gold Award from The Illustrators of the Future competition before starting on his career in Graphic Design.

He enjoys painting Science Fiction and Fantasy narrative illustrations, often focusing on published written work to inspire his visions (like Ringworld, Ender’s Game, Dungeons & Dragons, and more). More recently he created the cover for Chris Williams’ novel ‘The Viscount of 2213”. His dream project is already under way: A collection of his own short stories accompanying his full color illustrations.

Paul’s work is currently based entirely in digital, with acrylic as his original learned “real world” medium. He also takes part in the yearly exercise known as ‘Inktober’ using this time to explore new methods in black and white (although no literal ink is used), and enjoys the rush of quick, fast work on breakneck deadlines to improve his discipline and motivation.
